Welcome to River City Potluck, the premier, thematic potluck dinner based in Richmond, VA. RCP sprouted in the winter of 2007, from the wayward seeds of a potluck tradition started at The College of William and Mary in 2003. Since then, RCP has blossomed into a weekly meeting of 5 to 15 food-fanatical friends, who like each other and love to eat. I know what you're envisioning, and no, RCP is nothing like your mother's monthly supper-club or the Baptist church's seasonal covered-dish. RCP is to potlucks what Disneyworld is to amusement parks: our food choices are governed by cleverly creative themes. Past potlucks include: Colors of the Rainbow, Open Flame, Body Parts, Foods that Share the First Letter of Your Name, Alcohol, Lime, etc...This blog is an attempt to share some of our creative themes and epicurean enchantments, as well as, post favorite recipes...oh, and it will appease my mother, who insists I will one day want to remember every dish. We'll even post pictures of the food, although you really have to taste this stuff to believe it. We hope you enjoy reading about our most palatable pastime and who knows, maybe you'll get (pot)lucky with a recipe or two.
